Lenny’s Pizza, Brooklyn

Enjoy this taster slice from our book Brooklyn Mom & Pop.

Opening day for Lenny’s was in 1953, but film buffs know it as the place John Travolta stops for a slice in 1977’s Saturday Night Fever. They offer many exotic pizza permutations, like a grilled chicken Caesar salad slice, a mixed vegetable on a whole wheat crust, and one called a grandpa slice (their spin on the grandma craze). The blasphemers even have a Philly cheese steak! But how are you not going to order two plain slices so you can stack and fold ’em, just like Tony Manero done?
